Even though FMCSA started allowing these to be used for inspections in 2003 they have rarely been spotted. It would be great if these were used by companies that work on your brakes, service your CMV's or perform yearly DOT inspections.
I have been a safety admin for a little over a year now. I'm no English professor so excuse my punctuation i'm horrible at it. I just have this blog to share things I hear and my experiences in this field.

I am still trying to locate the article I found on the FMCSA's Website that went over the research they did on if the police report's finding would match the FMCSA's decision and assigning accountability regarding the crash rating. In the data analysis they did it showed that their findings matched the accident report in assigning fault 93% of the time, see the link below.

Glad to see this getting addressed hopefully we will see changes in the very near future as well as changes to the crash accountability rating weighing fault on crashes.
